The average American spends 41 hours stuck on traffic every year. So depending on how much you live, you can almost spend 18 years of your life in traffic – and this number is rather increasing. Traffic jam is a global problem of the modern society. So companies all over the world are now trying out new methods of transportation to come with efficient solutions. Here are five innovative ways you can do to beat the traffic.
Like you SpaceX founder Elon Musk got tired of LA traffic. So he first popularized the Hyperloop project. Hyperloop is Vactrain based on an American engineer Robert Goddard concept. It is a seal tube pod that can travel without air resistance and frictions. So it can go at a speed of 760 m/h. Elon Musk’s Boring company has already dug a 6.5-mile tunnel under Los Angeles for the Hyperloop project. And since Musk made Hyperloop design open sourced other companies pursuing similar projects.
China has more than 1.3 bn people. There are very few roads without traffic jam. So back in 2014 the Chinese government came up with the crazy idea of building the elevated bus. The elevated bus is much like a regular bus but it can go over the other traffics like private cars. This elevated bus carry up to 1200 people.
The motorcycle is one of the fastest vehicles and can be very useful to avoid traffic jams. But many people don’t ride the motorcycle for safety reasons. So back in 2009 two engineers, Gustav Procházka Arnold Wagner started building a much safer version of the motorcycle called Monotracer. Monotracer is basically a cabined motorcycle but much more safe and unique looking.
Drone aka unmanned fly object. People use drones as a toy, government to surveillance and vloggers to vlog. Even Amazon is using drones to deliver products.
In 2016 Chinese Drone maker Ehang Corp introduced a passenger drone named Ehang 184. This drone taxi has completed more than 1,000 test flights. And it is one of the safest in the world. Soon you will be able to fly one of this in Dubai.
You all remember flying car of Marty McFly from Back to the Future, right? Well, now you all are in the future. The flying car is much more like a passenger drone except, you will have to fly it over the traffic on your own.
Even Google co-founder Larry Page found a flying car company called Kitty Hawk. He showcased his company’s latest flying car. The fully electric vehicle flies between 3 feet to 10 feet off the water, powered by ten fans. You can control it with a joystick.
