Snoop Dogg has shared “Let Bygones be Bygones,” a new single from his forthcoming LP I Wanna Thank Me. The album is out August 16 on Snoop’s Doggystyle Records. The song details Snoop’s reconciliation with Suge Knight, who signed an 18-year-old Snoop to his first record deal.
“I’m cool with Suge, Master P, Dr. Dre, I’m cool with everybody. But I had to go get that cool with him. I had to go sit down with Suge,” he says in the song’s intro. Later in the song, he admits Knight “did some bullshit,” but also that “when we was down, he helped pick n***as up.”
Knight is currently in RJ Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego after being sentenced to 28 years on manslaughter charges. During the trial, he sued Dr. Dre, alleging he tried to have him killed, was indicted for threatening the life of Straight Outta Compton director F. Gary Gray, and allegedly discussed bribing witnesses.
I Wanna Thank Me’s title is inspired by Snoop’s acceptance speech at his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Its artwork, below, is amazing.
